While Epic keeps adding tools that are certainly beneficial to get a potential esports potential (the newest replay tool is phenomenal), there isn't a huge, <a href="https://www.mmogo.com/Fortnite/Items.html" rel="nofollow">Fortnite item shop today on mmogo</a> centralized league set up yet like we see for Overwatch or League or even CSGO. There are tournaments, sure, but the sport is still finding its sea legs in the scene. Not to mention that Fortnite couldn't be a huge esport at some point later on, but it is not there yet.<br /><br />As for this scholarship? I think that it's cool, though I will say that part of me wonders that if you're good enough in Fortnite to make a scholarship to perform with it, which you might be great enough to create at least $4,000 from Twitch or YouTube over the span of a year. Although I guess, perhaps, you can always do both.<br /><br />My guess is whoever gets these scholarship places are probably not likely to be famous names in the Fortnite community, as those folks are making that streaming money, and most of them are far older than 17-18, not just going to start college.
